Such an interesting gambling game is the game of blackjack. It involves a lot of luck and skills too. Over the decades, it has been played by so many gambling fans and it is not surprising that they have already invented for themselves the blackjack slang.

Some of the blackjack words used by the more experienced gambling players are as follows:

Anchorman - since most blackjack games, or at least the standard ones have a play-right rule, then the rightmost player with the respect to the dealer gets to act last. That gambling player is called the anchorman in the game of blackjack.

Barring a Player - this is the phrase used when a certain gambling player is not allowed to play at a particular gambling house. Some great gambling players have been barred from famous gambling houses because of their ability in card counting, such as Stu Ungar.

Blackjack - every gambling player who plays blackjack dreams of getting this hand each time they go to the gambling house. This is a hand consisting of a 10 and also an ace, which in total is twenty one. The gambling player who has this hand wins the game.

Bust - the aim of every gambling player in blackjack is to have a hand with a value that totals to twenty one. When the value of their cards exceeds that, then it is called a bust. This happens when the gambling player dared to risk and hit more than he should have.

Card Counter - this is a gambling player who knows how to study the cards dealt as to predict the one left in the deck. In some gambling houses, card counters are banned from playing.

Card Counting - this is the practice of gambling players in which they study the cards which were dealt to make a prediction of what will come out next from the deck of cards.

Dealer - this is a member of the gambling house personnel who sits with the players at the card games to shuffle and deal the cards to them. He or she is vital to games like poker and blackjack. Sometimes, they receive a lot of heat from the gambling players because some gambling players love to blame dealers for their losses.

Deck - this is a set of cards used in gambling games such as blackjack. The standard deck consists of 52 cards all in all. There are cases in which games use multiple decks. This practice of using multiple decks started when gambling houses were losing a lot to card counters.
