Film Director Richard Munchkin Plays Blackjack

Perhaps, you are familiar of the name Richard Munchkin. He is not only popular in the world of blackjack, but he is also popular in the entire entertainment industry. He is a professional gambler, producer, film director and author. However, he is more notable for his accomplishments in the gambling industry, most particularly in the game of blackjack.

The real name of Richard Munchkin is Richard Jacobs. The first games he learned as a child were gin rummy and chess. He was only three years old then. He did not know of any gambling activity until he reached twelve years old, when he heard a friend mention something about earning while playing the game of backgammon. It enticed him and tried playing backgammon. He eventually got hooked with the fact that he was playing and earning at the same time. And so he started to read every gambling book that he could get his hands on.

Richard Munchkin was successful as a young gambler. He was able to use his earnings to study at Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois. Right after graduation, he decided to move to Las Vegas, Nevada and worked as a blackjack dealer. His passion for frequently visiting Las Vegas casinos honed his gambling skills. However, it was also during this time that venturing into the motion picture industry appealed to him.

Richard Munhkin worked as a film director and producer for a time until he decided to take a break from show business. But before he took a break, he was able to make several successful motion pictures, including "Ring of Fire," "Dance or Die," "Evil Obsession," "Guardian Angel," "Deadly Bet, Texas Payback," and "Out for Blood." He was gone for ten years and made a comeback in 2004 with the motion picture "Funky Monkey," starring Roma Downey and Matthew Modine.

It was in 2005 that he participated in the World Series of Blackjack. He did not win in the said event. Nevertheless, such exposure allowed him to get more projects in the motion picture industry. Furthermore, he continued to play blackjack in casinos until he became a well-known professional blackjack player.

While taking a trip to Hong Kong, China, this professional blackjack player thought of writing a book about the best gamblers in the world. That was the birth of "Gambling Wizards: Conversations With the World's Greatest Gamblers." It features several gambling professionals, including professional blackjack players Cathy Hulbert and Tommy Hyland.

This professional blackjack player is currently writing his second book titled "Blackjack Wizards." This professional blackjack player is also a writer of articles for the magazine "Blackjack" on a regular basis.
